Aerosoft - Antarctica X

Antarctica X is one of the most technological advanced sceneries ever created. It covers the complete continent (as far as FSX allows) and will get you as close to flying over the Antarctic as possible. The landscapes you will encounter are breathtaking and show this continent in all its majestic beauty.

A major problem for this project was getting access to the data as there are so many countries involved and many feel the geographical data has strategic importance. Only after the developer got into contact with pilots and scientists who were actually in Antarctica things started to move forwards. Dozens of databases had to be combined and often these only existed in the paper format and had to be manually digitized. Often databases conflicted and details had to be found elsewhere.

Getting the aviation related information was easier but even here it was hard to find out what the real pilots are using. The respective organizations and pilots usually prefer to keep that information to themselves because (fuel/food/emergency-) supplies are very limited and therefore they don’t like anyone who’s not part of their select company to fly there. Without aviation there would hardly be people in Antarctica. It is a continent for those that dare to fly in extreme conditions and those that found Lukla and similar airports getting too boring.

The whole continent is covered by custom landclass data combined with Landsat satellite imagery. For many locations we got additional images that were painstakingly rectified and fitted in. The result is that this scenery is in many ways superior to datasets that are used by airlines and geographical institutes. As far as we know this is the first time many of these databases are combined. You will not find a better altitude model that’s more details or better photo coverage. Perhaps organizations like the CIA got something hidden but we doubt that.

Added to this scenery is one of the Twin Otter that has been a favorite for tens of thousands of customers, which is also the most widely used aircraft in Antarctica. You get the landscape, the aircraft and the extensive and detailed manual to get you started.

Video:

Features:

The whole continent (as far as FSX allows) in high definition terrain mesh, high detail aerial and satellite images and a coastline with millions of floating ice sheets

7 major research stations included in very high detail:

McMurdo (USA)

Rothera (United Kingdom)

Sky Blu (United Kingdom)

Neumayer III (Germany)

Casey (Australia)

Scott (New Zealand)

Sanae IV (South Africa)

A total of 47(!) runways/skiways and helipads all over the continent in various detail grades from the Russian hub to the newest Chinese skiway at an altitude of more than 13,000 ft (see manual)

3 extremely detailed icebreakers with helipads running on scheduled routes:

RV Polarstern (Germany)

USCGC Healy (USA)

Fictious Icebreaker (we call it the MS LimeSim…)

Many special (sound) effects and animations

Created in cooperation with Antarctic researchers and pilots

Includes a ski equipped DHC-6 Twin Otter, the ideal aircraft for the rough terrain (it’s the only continent without a single paved runway – although even larger airliners do land there!)

Special tool to change season and settings

Flightplan files based on real world flightplans

Extended and detailed manual that includes many ideas for flights and several chapters on flying in Antarctica written by a pilot

Owners of the Aerosoft DHC-6 Twin Otter get 10% discount on the Antarctica X download version when entering the Twin Otter serial key during the order process.

It is a cutting GA aircraft made out of fiber-reinforced composites. Originally designed to be a training craft it is now flown by a lot of private pilots who enjoy the wonderful flight dynamics and its economical costs.

This aircraft for FSX has one of the most impressive lists of features of any product we ever handled. It really makes you feel like owning the aircraft as you got to do the maintenance, cleaning and even decide what oil type to use.
Aerosoft - Anchorage X

Anchorage Ted Stevens International (PANC) one of the most important airports in Alaskas and destination of many national and international flight connections. Beside asian and russian airlines also from Frankfurt fly german Condor and the switzerland airline Edelweiß from ZRH in the month may to september to Anchorage.

There probably is no place on the globe where aviation is as important as in Alaska. In this great state roads are scarce and limited to the major cities. The vast wilderness can only be reached by aircraft. Often only by floatplane or small aircraft equipped for off airport landings. And Anchorage International Airport ‘Ted Stevens’ is at the center of much of this aviation.

It is in many ways a remarkable airport. Not only does is the main connection to the other US states (a connection mainly flown by Alaska Airlines 737 in their characteristic livery) and as a hub for intercontinental flights, it is also a bush airport with a large dirt strip for the small planes that do not really like concrete and tarmac.

It even has one of the largest seaplane bases in the world on Lake Hood that’s located next to the airport. Add the violent weather and the long hours of darkness in the winter and you end up with an airport that is in all way remarkable and well worth a superb rendering for Flight Simulator.

As always simWings did a fantastic job on an airport that no serious flightsimmer can do without.

Video:

Aerosoft - Corfu X

Located in the Ionian Sea and not far from Italy, the island of Corfu has been a favorite holiday destination ever since air travel got cheap enough for the masses. Of course, as the rest of Greece, it has a long, often bloody and very rich history that is clearly visible all over the island.

Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport is a typical holiday airport. Off season it’s quiet with just a few flights every day while in the holiday season (and certainly on Monday and Friday) the airport is running at full capacity. The runway is built in a small bay and the approach from the south is spectacular as some of the best known landmarks are only a few hundred meters away. Though weather conditions are seldom a problem, wind can be an issue as it flows around and over the mountains that are close to the airport. In high summer turbulence can be severe close to the ground. As the runway has no ILS, all approaches are visual and certain the VOR DME NDB approach to runway 35 is not easy.

LiVEinFSX modeled this airport using the latest insights in scenery design. But what makes this a special project is not the technology but the keen eye for detail and obvious love for the Greek islands that is clearly visible. If you never bought an add-on for FSX this is a great one to start with!

Video:

Features:

Photo real texture (0.5-1.0m resolution) for whole Corfu Island

Custom terrain mesh for the whole island

Photo-realistic Scenery covering the main and the old town and both ends of the approach path.

Fully custom 3D airport with all structures

Custom HD ground textures with full FSX material properties (specular shine/water reflection) at airport

Realistic approach lighting system

Detailed rendition of Corfu’s famous landmarks on approach routes

Advanced animations at the airport (flag/vehicle animations etc.)

Detailed representation of old town and harbour

3D re-construction of the main ship port and rocky shores of the old town

With its close proximity to Zurich and Aargau Birrfeld airfield is a major player in "general aviation" in Switzerland. Nestled between the A1 and A3 one finds
the airport with the ICAO code Birrfeld LSZF, directly west of the city of Baden and south of Brugg.

When creating the scenery is the designer Jeffrey Staehli not only modeled
the airport itself but also concentrated on the surrounding area.

The airfield is as close to reality thanks to the great features of 3D objects,
the many small aircraft, and the animated car traffic on the approaches to runways 08 or 26.

Vertigo Studios - Vans RV8 & RV8a FSX

Whether your a tail-dragger or tricycle kind of guy, the RV-8/8A retains the fighter-like feel of centerline seating. With a integrated Meggitt Magic 2100 AP Unit, sit back and take in the magnificent views from the
360 deg canopy. To add the icing to the cake, we had our very own Vans RV8 pilot take the controls to put her through rigorous tests. With the detailed feedback we wouldn’t have been able delivered this latest
master piece.

Introduction

In 1995, Van’s decided to re-visit the tandem seating concept. Even though the side-by-side RV-6/6A had become the most popular homebuilt design ever, there was still a significant percentage of pilots who
really wanted centerline seating. The consensus seemed to be that a roomier tandem airplane with better cross-country capability would be popular.

A one-of-a-kind demonstrator was built and introduced at Oshkosh in 1995. The response left no doubt about the desire for an airplane like the RV-8. The ground around the display aircraft was beaten into a trench and Van’s personnel were fending off people waving handfuls of cash…but not for too long. The RV-8 went on the market in 1996 and complete kits were available by the end of 1998. In short order, it was followed by the kit for the tricycle gear RV-8A.

Noteworthy Features

As with every Vertigo Studios aircraft, it is gorgeously constructed, inside and out.

2 x models included, RV8 and RV8a

Both the RV8 and RV8a boast a 3d Prop.

3D lights for the ultimate realism. Strobe, Landing and Navigation Lights.

Designed and built by the book.

Every aspect of the Rv8 development was closely monitored and tested by our very own RV8 Pilot.

Comes complete with a comprehensive PDF manual.

3D ‘Sound Cone’ Technology with an amazing sound set, engineered using authentic 180 hp O-360 engine.

DirectX 10 compatible models complete with virtual cockpit self-shadowing.

Systems and Tru3D gauges for ultimate realism taken beyond what’s available by default.

Tru3D Instrumentation for the ultimate smooth flying experience.

Customised high-resolution materials give the most realistic appearance to the aeroplane, whilst being optimised for great performance!

A total of 6 paint schemes, 5 historically accurate and one fictional.

Fuel delivery system is accurately simulated.

Garmin 3D GPS.

Bendix King Transponder

Meggitt 2100 AP Unit

Sound Design by Sonic Solutions featuring interior and exterior start, shut-down, flaps, canopy, wheel roll, crashes, tire touches, occasional sputters and back fires at certain RPM’s all in 16 bit/48k mastered for maximum dynamic range and quality.

Realistic canopy operation and animation.

Light bloom on glass and shiny materials.

Exciting custom-made effects.

In-game reference and check lists

A paint kit to easily re-create your own paint schemes (download from vertigostudios.co.uk)

simPlugins - PanelBuilder for FSX

PanelBuilder is a software add-on to create external instrument panels for Flight Simulator X. PanelBuilder is typically installed on a separate, networked computer. This allows Flight Simulator X to operate in full-screen, outside view mode with the instruments running on a separate computer, showing large, crisp instruments that are easy to read. PanelBuilder can also run on the same computer as Flight Simulator X using a 2nd monitor attached.

How it works
Panel Builder has been design to be modular and therefore easy to expand. It includes the

simPlugins Interface	the ‘link’ between the flight simulator and PanelBuilder across a network
Panel Manager the application to design instrument panels
Instruments individual instruments that are combined into panels

This approach provides an interface to any flight simulator that has an open architecture for third party add-ons. It also allows for the creation of new instruments to be added any time. Instruments currently not available in Panel Builder can be designed on request (most of the time free of charge).

Features

Suitable for all single and twin engine aircraft types

Helicopter specific instruments are also included

Covers piston and turbine Engines

Design an unlimited number of panels

Panels can be saved and loaded using the included ‘Panel Manager’

Design your own panel background

Includes over 50 instruments

Instruments are configurable for different aircraft performance data

Instruments are scalable to fit all sizes of monitors

Instrument dials and buttons are functional

Complete! Nothing else to buy.

New instruments and avionics are being added regularly and are available through software updates.

Turbine Sound Studios is proudly presents the TSS Boeing 737NG CFM56-7B HD Sound pack for FSX. With this sound pack,we have captured all the best sound moments , and put them together, to combine a truly stunning representation of the CFM56-7B.

This sound pack can be used with other 737NG`s addon`s than the Overland Boeing 737 in the promotional video.

The sound pack has been tested with the following Boeing 737`s :

iFly

PMDG

Overland

All engine sounds are recorded few feet away from the engines of CimberSterling & Primera 737`s

Besides the real HD recordings of the engines, this sound also includes:

Custom Soundcones

Custom Wind

Custom Gear

Custom flaps

Custom Autopilot

Custom Stall

Custom Overspeed

Custom wheel rumble

and ambient cockpit sound, just to bring the experience up, from within the cockpit.

As a new feature, you will be able to have an external APU sound running, also with implemented sound cones

CFM56-7 series
The CFM56-7 powers the Boeing 737 Next Generation series (737-600/-700/-800/-900). The CFM56-7 is rated with takeoff thrust from 18,500 to 27,300 lbf (82 kN to 121 kN).

It has higher thrusts, improved efficiency, and lower maintenance costs than its predecessor, the CFM56-3 series. It incorporates many features from the CFM56-5 series such as FADEC, double annular combustor and improved internal design. Mechanical arrangement is as in -3 series, but the fan diameter is increased to 61.0in.

The CFM56-7-powered 737 is granted 180-minute Extended-Range, Twin-Engine Operations (ETOPS) approval by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. It also powers the military versions of the Next-Generation 737, the C-40 Clipper, the P-8 Poseidon, and Boeing 737 AEW&C.

Leading particulars for the -7/B18 are: bypass ratio 5.5, overall pressure ratio 32.7, airflow 677lb/s, net thrust 19500lbf.

The CFM56-5B/5C/7 use essentially the same HP core. HP parts are dimensionally identical among the 5B/5C/7 although may or may not have different part numbers (source is ESM - Engine Shop Manual). Double annular combustor (DAC) is minority; most engines are SAC.
